Defining the Protective Antibody Threshold against Group B Streptococcus Disease in Infants
Hospital Lillebaelt
This project investigates the antibody level necessary to protect babies against severe infections caused by Group B Streptococcus (GBS). We will analyse previously collected samples from the Danish Neonatal Screening Programme. Comparison of samples from babies with GBS infections and healthy babies will identify the minimum antibody level needed for protection. Findings may support development of the first GBS vaccine for pregnant women aimed to reduce GBS infections in babies worldwide.
