CRISPR-Associated Transposons: advancing accurate and efficient genome-editing in neuronal cells
Københavns Universitet
Many neurodegenerative disorders (ND) remain untreatable because current gene-editing tools rely on DNA breaks that neurons cannot efficiently repair. This project aims to develop next-generation CRISPR-associated transposons (CAST) capable of inserting large DNA sequences without breaking the genome. By discovering and engineering new CAST systems and testing them in human neuronal cells, I aim to develop safer genome-editing strategies with transformative potential for treating ND.
