From Support to Signal: Uncovering Specialized Glia as Modulators of Sensation

This project explores a newly discovered type of support cell surrounding sensory nerve cells, that may help shape how we feel pain and itch. By studying these cells in both humans and mice, the research aims to uncover their role in sensory disorders and pave the way for more targeted treatments for chronic pain and itch.
