From risk to recovery: Uncovering social inequality in postpartum depression
Aarhus Universitet
Postpartum depression (PPD) impacts 17% of new mothers with serious consequences. This project investigates how social disadvantage increases the risk of PPD, identifies mothers most at risk, examines inequalities in diagnosis and treatment, and studies long-term outcomes. The project generates evidence-based recommendations developed with key stakeholders to inform and adapt clinical guidelines, ultimately improving care and reducing social and health inequalities.
