Next-Generation Scintillators for High-Resolution Molecular and Brain Imaging
Københavns Universitet
This project develops ultrafast Cs2ZnCl4 crystals with carefully controlled doping to establish a direct mechanistic link of local structure–excited carrier dynamics–scintillation. Through improved scintillation performance with high light yield and nearly 100% fast decay, the project aims to design and grow crystals capable of low-dose, high-speed PET imaging under 511 keV γ-ray excitation, particularly for studying brain function in preclinical models.
