Targeting the glutamine dialogue: Disrupting glioblastoma–astrocyte metabolic coupling

The goal of the project is to investigate the crosstalk between glioblastoma cells and astrocytes that takes place in glioblastoma tumors and explore a novel cancer treatment based on disruption of the glioblastoma-astrocyte coupling. We will focus on amino acid transporters that maintain the crosstalk. Using cutting edge approaches we will investigate the function of these transporters in glioblastoma, their exact transport function and their three-dimensional structure and organization.
